The growing importance of bilingual sections and the fact that all newly created schools in Extremadura will use a bilingual educational system, make it necessary to train Primary Education teachers to be able to teach any subject in English. Thus, the new bilingual section of the B.A. in Primary Education, that the Teacher Training College is implementing next term, will become a key instrument in the training of future teachers. Both the philosophy of language immersion and CLIL methodologies, which have given such good results in the Anglo-Saxon world, will be put into practice. Students will be instructed non-linguistic subjects in English, so as to develop the skills of a bilingual teacher. That is, they will learn methods and tools to face the teaching of any subject in the target language.
